UMPS Care in conjunction with the Phillies Urban Youth Academy will be hosting a 6 week course training kids to become umpires. It will start Wednesday, January 8th and go through Wednesday, February 12th from 6:30-8:30pm at Citizens Bank Park with one date potentially offsite. It is an initiative designed to help address the shortage of umpires, training high school youth as leaders on and off the field. The program includes social-emotional learning as well as teaching umpiring skills and mechanics with the goal of preparing them to work games upon completion. The focus will be on leadership, sportsmanship and mentorship through the lens of baseball and umpiring.

You don't have to have an interest in becoming an umpire but ones that maybe want to learn more about it. It is limited to 25 kids so we do ask for a serious commitment if you take a spot!

Open to boys and girls ages 14-18.
